Our gallery aims to curate exhibitions, performances, and gatherings that authentically reflect the diverse arts of the region, emphasizing a curation that focuses on artists indigenous to the Southwest. By highlighting Southwestern artists, we seek to foster a appreciation for Southwest Contemporary. Secret Gallery is pleased to present Malinche, an exhibition opening February 6, 2026, featuring the work of 30+ Chicana, Latina, Indigenous and southwestern artists who carry forward the legacy of Malinche, also known as Malinzin or Doña Marina. Rather than revisiting her as a historical subject alone, the exhibition positions Malinche as an inherited presence: one whose strategies of survival, translation, and adaptation continue to shape the experience of women navigating language, power, and identity today.
