Altar
A dia de los muertos group exhibition (2025)
Nov 2025 THRU Jan 2026
Presented in observance of Día de los Muertos, ALTAR at Secret Gallery brings together contemporary visual artists whose work reflects on culture, ancestry, and remembrance. The exhibition uses ALTAR as a conceptual framework rather than a literal form, offering varied artistic interpretations rooted in cultural tradition and lived experience of southwestern artists.
The exhibition featured work by over 40 artists from across New Mexico, Colorado, and Texas. ALTAR also included a collaborative partnership with Ceramica, a ceramic pottery studio that hosted a sugar skull workshop led by artists from Mexico, extending the exhibition through hands-on cultural exchange.
Sugar skull from workshop hosts: Munisa Ceramica (MX)
